Inin response to J K Rowling declaring Dumbledore was gay out of the context of her books, Pratchett jokingly wrote on the Discworld Emporium forums: Rincewind would like to announce that he is gay. Rincewind the Wizard is a rincewind gay character appearing in the Discworld novels of Terry Pratchett, several of which feature him as the central character. He is a failed student at the Unseen University for wizards in Ankh-Morpork, often described by scholars as "the magical equivalent to the number zero", and spends just about all of his rincewind gay running away from various bands of people who want.

As a gay dude, I thought it was funny when the whole "Dumbledore is gay" kerfuffle happened, and Terry Pratchett said: "Rincewind would like to annouce that he is gay.
